Description
Konqueror starts fine, but dolphin doesn't.
I installed kdebaseapps.
When I start Dolphin on the command line I get:
/Applications/MacPorts/*/dolphin.app/Contents/MacOS/dolphin dolphin(359)/KSharedDataCache ensureFileAllocated: This system misses support for posix_fallocate() -- ensure this partition has room for at least 10547296 bytes. dolphin(359)/KSharedDataCache: Unable to find an appropriate lock to guard the shared cache. This *should* be essentially impossible. :( dolphin(359)/KSharedDataCache: Unable to perform initial setup, this system probably does not really support process-shared pthreads or semaphores, even though it claims otherwise. dolphin(359)/KSharedDataCache: Unable to unmap shared memory segment 0x107616000 Segmentation fault: 11

Hello,
Any initial clue about this ?
I will be glad to help fix/resolve this.

After a fresh macports install on OS X 10.8, dolphin would not start for me as well. After using konqueror for awhile, making some custom settings and running "kbuildsycoca4" a few times, I found that dolphin would start. However, as soon as I tried to navigate to a folder, it would crash. I was able to open preferences and selected the setting for "Use common properties for all folders". After this, dolphin works fine for me.

I can confirm adding this to dolphinrc allows dolphin to startup

I think this can be closed - the latest 4.10.5 has the author's fix and it works fine here from macports

The upgrade to 4.10.5 indeed seems to have fixed this one.
