Description
MacPorts mirrors the pgplot distfiles, as it does automatically for most other ports as well.
On the pgplot homepage it states:
The source code and documentation are copyrighted by California Institute of Technology, and may not be redistributed or placed on public Web servers without permission.
Have we ever asked for this permission? If so, and it was granted, a statement to that effect should be added in a comment in the pgplot portfile, near the master_sites line.
If we have not asked for this permission, we should ask for it now.
If we have asked, and permission was denied or no response was given, then we should ask the Mac OS Forge administrator to add a mirroring exception for pgplot and to remove existing pgplot distfiles from our servers.

The author of the software (tjp at astro.caltech.edu) responded:
Yes, you may mirror PGPLOT in MacPorts, so long as you include a clear link to the original site http://www.astro.caltech.edu/~tjp/pgplot/
The Portfile does contain such a link, so I am closing this ticket.
Comment was added to Portfile in r98615.
I emailed the author of the software (tjp at astro.caltech.edu) on Oct 8, 2012 asking permission.
