This ticket is similar to https://trac.macports.org/ticket/35552 but since that bug denotes "fixed", I am opening this one as it does not appear to be so fixed.

I'm new to macports bug reporting, so if I've omitted something (technical or process-wiese) please let me know as i want to be correct in my actions.

My sincerest apologies to all who see this! Turns out the fact that I had not done the "xcodebuild -license" seems to have cause this. Once I did the system-wide version "sudo xcodebuild -license" all was well and valgrind now builds (the /usr/bin/mig line led me to believe it was the xcode message needing fulfilling).
this non-bug can now be closed.
