Summary: | expat 2.1.0 not found (404) → expat: checksum mismatch because HTML file |
The fact that we have no packages for any ports on Mountain Lion, and you therefore get a 404 for that, is not the problem.
The problem is that, failing a pre-copiled binary, MacPorts tries to download the source and build it on your system. But the source it downloaded was not source but HTML. What server did that HTML come from? Your log does not tell us. What does the HTML contain? You could cat
or attach the file /opt/local/var/macports/distfiles/expat/expat-2.1.0.tar.gz; that might tell us more about what we need to do to fix it.

I attached /opt/local/var/macports/distfiles/expat/expat-2.1.0.tar.gz, which I am not able to make heads or tails of. Looks like SourceForge JavaScript.

Yet another user with the same exact issue, including the file Jacqueline just attached.

Thanks. I'll look into adjusting the list of SourceForge mirrors.
