#36517 closed defect (invalid)

netpbm returned: Subversion check out failed

Reported by: macports@… Owned by: macports-tickets@…
Priority: Normal Milestone:
Component: ports Version: 2.1.2

Port: netpbm

Description

When I try to install netpbm, I always get an error telling me that macports cannot check out the code from the svn repository. I guess the issue is similar to #28590 and #32000. However, I did not find any hint on how to fix that issue, except a "try again later". I've tried it now for over a month and the error didn't disappear. Actually, I just wanted to upgrade LaTeX, which sadly somehow depends on this port.

Here's the log:

It works fine for me. There must be a local problem with your network. Is it possible to try on a different network?

comment:3 Changed 12 years ago by macports@…

You're right, this was a network problem. I actually tried that from multiple networks, always with the same result. However, I finally found the source of the problem: There was a strange rule in my firewall preventing connections from Terminal via svn... It must have been me who put that there, so I'm really sorry for the confusion! Thanks a lot for your help!

In 9192b329cc13ddda097b50a8cb086adc4b8d5435/macports-ports:

netpbm: Fetch from GitHub mirror instead of SourceForge svn

Fetching from svn has been repeatedly problematic.
