Can the py-icalendar port be modified to depend on py-tz instead of py-tz-gae? I'm not sure why the Google App Engine version is needed and the ports conflict. See #36613.

A search for "pytz" didn't turn up py-tz in Macports. The pytz-gae variant is the same as pytz but with a configurable mode where it's initialized in a manner better suited for the GAE environment, nevertheless r98801, thanks.
