Description
Hello, Please create a GSmartControl ( http://gsmartcontrol.berlios.de/ ) port. It's a hard disk drive health inspection tool, a GUI for smartctl (from smartmontools). I'm the author of the program.
It used to be in fink, but now that fink is down and looks dead, the users ask me for an OS X version and I don't have any access to OS X to contribute a port.

While we'd be happy to look into creating a port for this in MacPorts, if you'd prefer to use Fink, they appear to be alive and well. At least I can access the Fink homepage just fine.

They are known to have extended downtimes, the site was down for a month or so and it just went back online yesterday I think. Plus they don't have GSmartControl for the latest OS X versions (already reported).
I still think a macports port would be nice, considering all the prerequisites are already there and have newer versions available compared to fink. Thanks!

A gsmartcontrol port was added a few years ago in r105230.
