"port installed" = 'No ports are installed' — at Initial Version

Description
I'm having several issues with my Macports after upgrading to Mountain Lion a few days ago. Namely this https://trac.macports.org/ticket/36071. I'm trying to back track now starting with this command "port installed" but all I receive is this 'No ports are installed'.
My port version is 2.1.2 and I did run "sudo port selfupdate". As you can guess I'm not in familiar territory so if you can instruct to run tests, if need be, just let me know. Thanks!
