Many of the CTAN participants have dropped 1.0 support for teTeX. The port installation fails when one of the web servers returns an error web page rather than the tar ball. Perhaps a simple fix is to reorder the CTAN sites in the Portfile. I found that ftp.uni-stuttgart.de still has the 1.0 source.

re-assign to gregory, since he is (afaik) working on a update for tetex. -fkr

The Portfile for 2.0.2 closes this issue. /gw

Most likely cause: the source file for the old version of teTeX has been removed from the CTAN archive. I'll be happy to help update to 2.0, since I already did that for Fink. (Reassigning this to landonf since he's the teTeX maintainer.)
