I have tried the solution on this ticket and it has not worked for me. The same

Whoops forgot to write everything!

Anyway, the same error occured here for me as well. As you can see in the log, cp -RP is looking for a vpnc...-component.pkg. Instead, macports produces a vpnc....pkg and because of this cp cannot find the package.

Do you have PackageMaker installed?

Yes. I have macports.conf pointing to it. It seems to make .pkgs fine but can't make a .mpkg out of them. I tested with a couple other ports and it doesn't work with them either.
