It should be enough to change the version number and checksums in the port file. Here are checksums for Drupal 7.19:

I believe this patch https://trac.macports.org/ticket/49138 makes this ticket obsolete.

The drupal7 port has since been updated to 7.56. However a newer release containing security fixes, 7.66, is available.
