The following code
program test implicit none type entry real :: value = 0.0 integer :: index = 0 type(entry), pointer :: next => null !Error in initialization; should be null() end type entry type(entry), pointer :: chain type(entry), target :: first_element first_element%value = 1.5 first_element%index = 1 chain => first_element write(*,*) chain%value, chain%index end program test
leads to the following internal compiler error for GNU Fortran (MacPorts gcc47 4.7.3_0+universal) 4.7.3:

does this just happen with the MacPorts gcc47, or does it happen with other compiles of it, too?
