We need to see the log that the failure message mentioned. Please clean, try installing again, and attach the log if it fails.

% sudo port clean py27-scipy
% sudo port install py27-scipy
% port logfile py27-scipy

Log file attached. I've port cleaned etc and it recurs. All other ports up to date (including gcc). OS X 10.8.3

Also seeing this. OS X 10.8.4 Latest Xcode. Port clean has no effect. Have added zipped main log. DN

I have Mac OS X 10.7.5 and got same problem.

This might be the same as #39177.

Yes! This and #39177, seem to be duplicates. #39177 has more details, so probably it's better to close this one.
