Description
A port for perl version 5.18 should be added. Also, all p5-* ports (~1000 - too many to list) need to be updated to accommodate it.

Theoretically you should only be adding 5.18 to perl5.branches if the module is known to work with that perl version.

Don't forget to add a variant for perl 5.18 in port intltool once the perl5.18 port is available.

Since it's listed as ricci / openmaintainer - I'd be willing to help maintain this and a lot of the other perl related stuff.

maybe we could end our current perl insanity and just have one perl5 port (this one) be what we install as perl5 (and have all modules use?)

Perl5.18 added in r112779. Added emer@ as maintainer, select stub file.

I'd like to end the perl insanity too. The constant forced perl 5.12 installs to start.

Looks like you forgot to add the ed script to the files directory:
sh: /opt/local/var/macports/sources/rsync.macports.org/release/tarballs/ports/lang/perl5.18/files/config.h.ed: No such file or directory
