SOLVED
My problem was that I was yet to accept Xcode license, after doing so installing the port works fine.
Apologies it appears my error is different and now gives a failure to configure error, please advice on whether I should open a new ticket or whether this may be related ( I have 'cleaned' and tried again).
Thanks
