all install and upgrades fail due to fetch error 404 on server lil.fr.rsync.macports.org

while updating ports and installing new ones, it now consistently fails with an error 404 on the server lil.fr.rsync.macports.org i cleaned everything several times, run selfupdate and so on, but always 404. also my dns is ok and i had no trouble reaching the server itself, just the file macports expected is not there.

it failed at least for:

• php53-pear
• php5-pear
• ld64

changing the mirror in etc/macports/sources.conf did not help since it still tries to actually download files from the server which is giving me 404s

The 404 errors you see are probably (can't tell from the log, because it's not a complete log, see ​http://guide.macports.org/#project.tickets.prerequisites) due to MacPorts trying to download binary archives for the ports you're trying to install, which fails, because there are none (often due to licensing restrictions preventing us from re-distributing binaries).

Your main.log shows lots of Permission denied errors; it seems this is a case of #39850.

Please do not set priority to high, since this is reserved for project members as stated in the ticket guidelines prominently linked from the new ticket page. Also, let's not assign this to our administrator, since he neither controls the mirrors, nor is this a problem with the servers.
