expect-5.43.0
I submitted a patch to Tcl to install all the Tcl header files. http://bugzilla.opendarwin.org/show_bug.cgi? id=3777. Now expect does not need to download Tcl all over again just to link against Tcl.
The following patch fixes the expect port to be more efficient. http://bugzilla.opendarwin.org/ show_bug.cgi?id=3790
You may make me the maintainer for this port if you like. dports@…

I pulled the headers because they were giving grief with the base system (which is a base bug) and some ports. So, this update is not needed until the tcl port contains these headers again.
I suggest we:
1) fix base ... Paul is looking at it. 2) include the tcl headers again, this is up to Landon (the new tcl maintainer). 3) we change the expect port.
Besides that,
I don't mind you co-maintaining the port for now. Is this acceptable for anyone ?
I wasn't aware the extra headers caused problems. Expect does work, so I'm content to do nothing if that is the easiest thing and if the problem is just going to get corrected over time. Sounds like it's better if I don't become a maintainer for this one for now.
