Description
i successfully compiled wxMaxima on my 10.5.6 powerpc. After starting the programm via "applications -> macports -> wxMaxima" the maxima-window appears but i can not access the menus because the are grey (see screenshot). what goes wrong?

Also: I'm inclined to close this ticket with "wontfix". In the absence of developers being able to reproduce the error on their own machines and being able to fix it, leaving this ticket on the MacPorts tracker forever is pretty much "useless". If wxMaxima developers are able to reproduce the problem on their own machines and fix it, it should start working automatically with the next update.
But if there is something we can do in MacPorts, we'll do it. It is just helpless to have the ticket open without anyone being able to help you.

The 20.04.0 version has been tested by a few people and I didn't receive any feedback in that direction, so I assume this is solved.
There are some issues with menus in OSX 10.15.3, which are fixed in OSX 10.15.4 (see notes of wxMaxima port).

Let's assume it was fixed by an update. Please re-open the ticket if you still see the issue.
I would ask upstream developers for help. There is a chance that there are problems with wxWidgets on PPC, but you'll probably have problems finding developers with PPC machines. Is this problem specific to wxMaxima or does it happen with all wxWidgets-based programs?
