Build of git-core fails on PPC 10.5.8 because "SSL routines:SSL3_GET_SERVER_CERTIFICATE:certificate verify failed"

Have exactly the same problem; can be worked around by fetching the distfile manually.

Don't understand why the built-in fetch doesn't work.
