Description
The sumo-devel port is labeled 0.11.0 but seems to pull directly from the sumo repo. The released version number is now 0.20.0 so this -devel port should somehow at least track the released version number. Let me know if I can help to develop a patch. Or possibly sumo-devel should be retired??

Sure. I wasn't sure if they were cc'd automatically...

Patches to use svn head of tree per SUMO developer recommendations.
comment:4 Changed 10 years ago by lockhart (Thomas Lockhart)
This issue could now be relabeled "sumo-devel @svn Use repo head of tree" The patch for Portfile uses the repo head of the tree rather than a specific version number and repo revision number which are rapidly out of date and not maintainable. Using the repo head of tree is the recommendation of the SUMO developers. Note that using the daily snapshot seems to be precluded by the requirement for providing valid checksums in the Portfile. If the daily snapshot would be preferable and if there is a workaround for the checksum issue I can adjust the Portfile accordingly.

Since apparently all ports should be based on a fixed and repeatable version of software, I recommend that the sumo-devel port be retired and removed. There is no intermediate version or svn revision number which would provide a predictably useful -devel alternative to the most recently tagged and released version of SUMO. Thanks!
