Description: Coin is a high-level 3D graphics library with a C++ Application Programming Interface. Coin uses scene-graph data structures to render real-time graphics suitable for mostly all kinds of scientific and engineering visualization applications. It implements the Open Inventor v2.1 API, and additional features are provided as well.
Comments: Coin has had strong support for Mac OS X for quite a while, and its configure scripts include the ability to build as a framework. However, I have the Portfile configured to build a standard unix-style installation for X11 into ${prefix}. Three variants provide special features. First, the aqua variant uses AGL and builds into /Library/Frameworks. Second, the devel variant activates in- development features. Finally, the threadsafe variant enables threadsafe traversal of the scene graph, an essential feature for multithreaded applications.
