Apparent libjpeg problem when installing poppler

Description

When running: 

port upgrade outdated

the process fails when attempting to upgrade poppler: 

--->  Computing dependencies for poppler
--->  Building poppler

Error: org.macports.build for port poppler returned: command execution failed
Please see the log file for port poppler for details:
    /opt/local/var/macports/logs/_opt_local_var_macports_sources_rsync.macports.org_release_tarballs_ports_graphics_poppler/poppler/main.log
Error: Unable to upgrade port: 1

The specified log file is attached. It looks like there is a problem with the libjpeg installation. Running: 

port installed *jpeg*

returns 

jpeg @8d_0
jpeg @9_1
jpeg @9a_1 (active)
openjpeg @2.1.0_0 (active)
openjpeg15 @1.5.0_0
openjpeg15 @1.5.0_1 (active)

Activating the (apparently required) jpeg @8d_0, results in new compatibility/dependency issues with the installed libtiff version.

The problem is probably that you did not ​clean and try again. The log shows a failure to locate libjpeg.8; the current version of jpeg, 9a, provides libjpeg.9.
