Priority: | Normal | Milestone: | |
Component: | ports | Version: | 2.3.99 |
Keywords: | Cc: | ||
Port: | openmpi |
Description
The openmpi subports have notes like this:
$ port notes openmpi-gcc48 openmpi-gcc48 has the following notes: +--- OpenMPI Usage note ---- | The mpicc wrapper (and friends) are installed as: | | /opt/local/bin/mpicc-openmpi-gcc48 (likewise mpicxx, ...) | | To make openmpi-gcc48's wrappers the default (what you get when | you execute 'mpicc' etc.) please run: | | sudo port select --set mpi openmpi-gcc48-fortran +-------------------------
Could we please remove the ASCII art so that it reads:
$ port notes openmpi-gcc48 openmpi-gcc48 has the following notes: The mpicc wrapper (and friends) are installed as: /opt/local/bin/mpicc-openmpi-gcc48 (likewise mpicxx, ...) To make openmpi-gcc48's wrappers the default (what you get when you execute 'mpicc' etc.) please run: sudo port select --set mpi openmpi-gcc48-fortran
The ASCII art makes the note appear more prominently, but if it is thought that notes are not displayed prominently enough by default, then that should be fixed in MacPorts base so that all ports can benefit, rather than being implemented individually and inconsistently in each port that uses notes
.
