Note: The last is owned by stromnov and dbsgeo@ as maintainer of this port py26-mapnik never CCed.

dbsgeo@... never acknowledged tickets: #36134 #37995 and the maintainer seems not to be active anymore.

I CC the maintainers of mapnik as they may have a clear idea on what to do with this port.

I am no longer active with Macports, so I recommend removing any ports under my previous maintainership. I anyone has questions about Mapnik I am still an active maintainer of the upstream code and you can reach out to ask questions at ​https://github.com/mapnik/mapnik/issues.

Thanks, sounds good. I'll add that if you or anyone else decides to maintain some port of Mapnik in the future then keep an eye out for the upcoming Mapnik 3.0.0 which is due out very soon and works with latest boost 1.56.
