I've now tested the new version on a Mac Pro / 10.9.5, a Quad G5 / 10.5.8, and a PowerBook G4 / 10.5.8. This updates the version, as well as removing the kext architecture constraint (which is of little value and completely broken on PowerPC - see #45794) and disabling the useless fetch/extract of the .dmg on pre-Mavericks machines (see #46525).
This does *not* remove the implied -s when the kernel architecture isn't x86_64, even though I think it's unnecessary as discussed in #45794 (and probably moot if precompiled binaries only go back to 10.8).
