On my 10.6 system with Xcode 3.2.6, this test successfully completes, but configure fails later with:
configure: error: CBLAS/LAPack library files not found at usual locations! Exiting.

Note: See
TracTickets for help on using
tickets.
The configure command aborts on this line with "Abort trap": https://trac.macports.org/attachment/ticket/46591/main.log#L924
I think this means that one of the commands executed by configure to probe your system crashed.
I don't know if / how this can be fixed ... this issue is not present on the OS X 10.10 I have.
If you absolutely need sextractor on this old OS X 10.6 machine, maybe you can try building sextractor from source and if the same error appears ask in the sextractor forum if there's a workaround / fix? http://www.astromatic.net/software/sextractor
