#46715 closed defect (duplicate)

sudo port install xfig

Reported by: barron@… Owned by: macports-tickets@…

Component: ports Version: 2.3.3
Keywords: Cc:
Port: tightvnc

Description (last modified by mf2k (Frank Schima))

I am running OS X Yosemite, using Xcode 6.1.1 and just installed Maxports. I am running "sudo port install xfig" in my main directory. I get:

--->  Building tightvnc
Error: org.macports.build for port tightvnc returned: command execution failed
Please see the log file for port tightvnc for details:
    /opt/local/var/macports/logs/_opt_local_var_macports_sources_rsync.macports.org_release_ports_x11_tightvnc/tightvnc/main.log
Error: Unable to upgrade port: 1
Error rebuilding tightvnc
    while executing

I looked in the log file and I see there are errors from some Makefile. I tried running sudo port clean (as the Macports ticket suggests) but this gives me an error message:

sudo port clean
Can't map the URL 'file://.' to a port description file ("Could not find Portfile in /Users/barron").
Please verify that the directory and portfile syntax are correct.
To use the current port, you must be in a port's directory

I have no idea what a port's directory is...

Without a clean main.log, we have no idea what happened. Assuming duplicate of #40862.

To clean the port, you have to give its name, as in:

sudo port clean tightvnc

Then try installing tightvnc again. If/when it fails again, attach the main.log file so that we can see what happened.

Note: See TracTickets for help on using tickets.
