Description

How I can port install netcdf-fortran (in macports) using the ifort compiler? It always looks for gfortran.

My system: OSX Yosemite (10.10.2). XCode (6.1.1)

Simply put, you cannot. ifort is not available from Intel for inclusion in MacPorts so, by design, it can't be used. You have a few options if you really want to this:

  • create a local port copy of netcdf-fortran and explicitly set the location to ifort
  • convince Intel to offer an open version of ifort to include with MacPorts
