Sorry mf2k, my finger slipped. :) Is it appropriate/recommended for me to add the maintainer keyword myself in future (we thought it was, but couldn't find a way to do so having submitted the ticket).

Yes, you should use “maintainer” when you create tickets about ports you maintain. I don’t think non-committers can modify tickets after they’re already created, but feel free to email macports-dev if no one picks up a ticket for a while.

Thanks Larry. I've put a note in our release checklist, so it should hopefully get tagged properly next time. Do you want all the other maintainers CCed too, as I can add a note about that as well?

Alright. Note that it’s not mandatory, but committers with limited free time are more likely to pick up a ticket if it’s clear that it was filed by a port maintainer. Hence, the “maintainer” keyword.
Do you want all the other maintainers CCed too, as I can add a note about that as well?
Yes, we prefer that all maintainers be Cc’d so that they’re notified of ticket changes.
