xz: fetch failed

I am new to this page, I am new to terminals and things too, so I will just copy and paste what I have.

It seems you were unable to fetch xz. This must be due to some problem with your network, since the files do exist on the servers named.

I am using my school wifi, and it might have blocked it for some reason. Would it be okay if I use programs like VPN ex) Hotspot Shield to get the files?

I don't have any experience with VPNs so I can't advise you on that.
