ok, it's fixed and I've added a new diff but it needs the py-pluggy port on ticket https://trac.macports.org/attachment/ticket/47714/. sorry for the inconvenience!

yes, it is a runtime dependency. I just had to install pluggy by hand to make tox 2.0.1 work on my laptop. it would be good to have the port submission accepted and the tox port fixed. again, sorry for the trouble. my bad.
