Does it actually work on mac OS X? The README says it works on 10.9, but the adjfreq implementation just returns ENOSYS (https://github.com/openntpd-portable/openntpd-portable/blob/master/compat/adjfreq_osx.c)

From what I've seen it indeed does work. adjfreq may be a stub, but it can't be the function that does the actual time adjustment. Nor does it control the frequency with which timeservers are polled, because that too seems to be working.

Good to hear that it works (although presumably not as well as elsewhere):
Lack of adjfreq is at least part of why ntimed doesn't work on Mac OS X (yet?) too.

The diff you've attached makes both whitespace and functional changes. Whitespace changes should be made separately so that functional changes can be easily seen.
