The Makefile (in aircrack-ng's scripts directory) is deliberately programmed to only install aircrack-ng on Linux.
On FreeBSD, it instead installs a file that prints this message:
On $(uname), it is not necessary to use airmon-ng to enable the monitor mode of your wireless card. Instead, you need to specify this mode when creating your wlan device. For example: ifconfig wlan0 create wlandev ath0 wlanmode monitor
On other operating systems like OS X it does not install anything for airmon-ng.
Do you actually need airmon-ng on OS X? What problem are you encountering? Does following the FreeBSD instructions shown above help on OS X?

This is not a MacPorts-specific issue. If there is a problem, report it to the developers of aircrack-ng.

I agree airmon-ng doesn't get installed but I don't yet know why.
