Description

argyll is seriously out of date. According to the Changes Summary the latest version has many new features and bug fixes, including the ability to build on 64 bit platforms through OS X 10.10.

Argyll has now been upgraded to version 1.8.3. See the summary of changes.

Upgrade of the port is complicated by the fact that the ISP hosting the download site refuses to allow download access for curl and similar agents. Common web browsers work fine. This causes MacPorts fetches to fail. The developer is aware of the problem and has talked to the ISP but no improvement as yet.

FWIW, telling curl to use a generic agent name such as "Mozilla-4.0" bypasses the problem. Another solution would be to manually load a copy to the MacPorts mirrors.
