Description
The R port has variants for using gfortran from gcc versions 4.5 through 4.9 inclusive, with 4.8 being the default. Could a variant for using gfortran from the gcc5 port be added, and made the default? gcc5 is the latest stable version of gcc.
Perhaps this is also an opportunity to switch to using the compilers 1.0 portgroup, instead of creating the variants manually.

Fixed in r141379 from ticket #49316.
Unfortunately given how our "Tickets filed against a specific port" search works with a regex, trying to search for "R" is pretty hopeless.
