I'm not involved with the mpi aspects of the boost port. If it builds fine for you when not using mpi, then I'll leave this matter to Sean.

thanks for considering my problem.

Sorry but I don't know if mpi is mandatory. I'm just following the guide for the installation of OpenFOAM: ​https://openfoamwiki.net/index.php/Installation/Mac_OS/OpenFOAM_2.3.x

I just updated openmpi and this works for me now. Please reopen if you still have issues.
