Description
I posted this on SO under the same title, and don't know if this is the right place to place a request for this type of help, but I have a hunch the root cause is a port needs to be updated:
I've been using PDFTK Server on OSX pre 10.11 for over a year without any issue running commands on the command line.
After installing OSX 10.11 beta, I can no longer run any PDFTK Server commands on the command line. It will not throw an error, all the commands I try to execute just hang indefinitely.
I installed from a pkg I downloaded from the PDFTK Server website as always:
https://www.pdflabs.com/tools/pdftk-server/
I've sent in the complaint to Apple via their Feedback Assistant application that gets installed when installing the beta two months ago without a response.
I've searched the web for a clue as to what might be causing the issue and how to fix it, but have found nothing tangible.
On OSX, I don't know how to go about figuring out if there is now a permission or path issue with the executable after the upgrade.
Any help either trouble shooting the root cause or offering a fix is appreciated.

It is a little unclear to me what you mean here. You can't possibly have installed pdftk through MacPorts on OS X 10.11, since it currently fails to build on that platform (that's another issue, #48528).
If you mean that you're having trouble after installing it using the .pkg installer, then this has nothing to do with MacPorts. It would be more appropriate to take it up with those who made and distribute that installer, the pdftk developers.

You likely won't ever receive a response. Apple only replies through Feedback Assistant for major bugs of the operating system where they need additional information. It is not a way to obtain support, even less so for a third-party application.

Thanks for the feedback, I reached out to the pdftk devs on this, I hope they respond. If the build is failing on MacPorts for OS X 10.11 does that mean that if I install from, say Homebrew tabs: https://github.com/docmunch/homebrew-pdftk, the executable will also fail? What I mean is, no matter the source, pdftk will have an issue with OS X 10.11 since MacPorts build is having an issue (the root cause is pdftk's compatibility with 10.11)?
Also, just in case, I have an SO question on this topic: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/32505951/pdftk-server-on-os-x-10-11

I'm going to close this ticket since it is not a MacPorts problem. (The MacPorts problem is already being tracked in #48528.)
The Priority field is for use by Macports team members only.
