This is after I upgraded to El Capitan, reinstalled all my ports, and ran port selfupdate many times without any problems (on the new system). I don't understand why it suddenly broke. I've tried reinstalling. I've tried uninstalling macports' openssl, and then put it back when that didn't work. Has the private ssl key changed?

I have the same issue. I also tried to uninstall and install ports once again. The same error.

Yes, all users will experience this error, until our server administrator fixes what's wrong with the server. Cc yourself on #49233 if you'd like to be informed about any progress.
