Failed to install guile18

Description
While installing gnucash, there is a problem with guile18. Can you please help me to check what was the problem and how to solve it.
I saw this error before but it did not seem to affect other ports. But this time, I had to install gnucash and then it did not want to do it anymore.

This was not a clean build attempt. Please "sudo port clean guile18", then try again.

It is working now, thanks for the information on how to solve this and other not-clean installs.
