I see jeremyhu was working on this issue (http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/mesa-dev/2014-June/060554.html). Maybe he can comment on the current situation. I'm using xorg-server @1.17.4,

Committed in r143164 merging existing glx related patch into yours.
This improves the operation of the OpenGL Area widget in gtk3-demo (over libepoxy 1.2) but it's still not completely functional. Instead of rendering graphics, it reports
This may be true, but I'm not sure if this is a requirement of libepoxy, the widget or just the particular demo. Looking into it but if you have any insight or suggestions, please let me know.
