I have tried both gqrx and gqrx-legacy. both give the same error

I'm guessing from the screenshot that it's not gqrx having the issue, but rather some dependency.
That said, we can't help you without more information. A build log would be great. As would the actual command you were executing, and the debug printout of 'port' somewhat before the screenshot you attached.

Also, if/when you do post a log, please add a comment. The bug tracking system doesn't show us via email when a log is added, but it does show comments.
In the meantime, you might want to try something like:
sudo port clean $(/bin/ls /opt/local/var/macports/build/* | grep -v ":") sudo port selfupdate sudo port upgrade outdated
And then try installing whatever you were doing again (e.g., "sudo port install gqrx").

I'm guessing that the OP has resolved the issue, so I'm closing this ticket as "works for me". If this is not the case, then please reopen the ticket and post a build log showing the failure.
Please attach both main.log files.
