Neither the latest stable version 2.2.7 nor the latest beta version 3.0.8 of php-memcache build with PHP 7. This is not surprising since they are over 2 years old and PHP 7 is brand new. Here is the project's bug report: https://bugs.php.net/bug.php?id=70751. Once a PHP 7-compatible version of php-memcache is released by its developers I will be happy to update the port to that version.
