Homebrew supports a --with-training-tools option on installation which would be nice to have in MacPorts as well.

All it needs to do is: 

  make training
  make training-install

If it is better aligned with how MacPorts does things, a separate subport instead would be fine too.

I'm thinking we should add a +training variant unless they can't live together.

If this only causes new files to be installed (i.e. it does not cause files that the port already installed to be changed), then a subport would be better than a variant.
