In April 2016 the MacPorts MongoAlchemy is much too aged.

The MacPorts version is at:
py-mongoalchemy @0.11 python/py-mongoalchemy py27-mongoalchemy @0.11 python/py-mongoalchemy
which was released before: 0.11.1 -- 2011-12-08 15:00.
While the most recent release is:
MongoAlchemy-master/release-notes.rst: 0.21 -- 2015-11-13 8:45
Users will likely encounter this incompatibility as the error:
ImportError: No module named objectid
Also, Flask-MongoAlchemy (https://pypi.python.org/pypi/Flask-MongoAlchemy) is at:
py-flask-mongoalchemy @0.5.3 python/py-flask-mongoalchemy py27-flask-mongoalchemy @0.5.3 python/py-flask-mongoalchemy
Whereas the last release is at 0.7.2.
Other software in the accompanying toolchain (flask, mongo) are current.
