Description
Though I've installed MailtoMutt, the Apple mailer is still started when clicking on a mailto URL in Firefox, instead of MailtoMutt.

I don't use Mail.app (and don't want to create an account). I just want to use MailtoMutt. I haven't seen anywhere how to change my default email application.

you dont have to create an account. just press cancel. the way to change the default mailer is *in* mail.app preferences. It's under "General".
I don't know how I can be more explicit.

If I press Cancel, then Mail.app quits. So, I can't change the default mail application from it.
After a search on Google, I've found the RCDefaultApp preference pane[*] to set MailtoMutt as the default mail application. But IMHO, MailtoMutt should provide a way to set itself as the default mail application; I really don't think the bug is invalid.

it's invalid because it's not a darwinports issue that the program lacks the documentation you require. thanks for the link for future doco hunters.
have you changed your email settings in mail.app? change your default email application.
this question should go upstream
