Description
I just packaged the latest Gnumeric 1.12.31. For those of you who wants to try out, you can download it. Move Gnumeric.app into the Applications folder or it won't launch. As far as I know, it's the only packaged version available for Mac OS.

I used the MacPorts libraries to build it. But I don't know if we can suggest it as a packaged version.

As you say, this is an interesting effort but I don't think it's appropriate as an official port. I suggest that in cases like this where you have something like this that you would like to share with the MacPorts community that you advertise it on the macports-users list rather than open a ticket.

If you ARE proposing a modification or enhancement of an existing port, then the appropriate form of submission is to attach a patch against the current port expressed as a unified diff. In the case of adding an app bundle, an appropriate way doing this this is to use the app 1.0 portgroup in the Portfile. This allows us to clearly see the modifications that your are proposing. In any case, we need, in the end, a Portfile that can be built to yield the final product using port install without a lot of manual manipulation.
Again, if you just want to let people know that your "standalone" app bundle is available as something separate from Macports, announcing it on the maports users list would make more sense.
Thanks for all your work
I'm not sure how this is relevant to MacPorts. Did you use MacPorts to make this? Or, are you suggesting we replace our gnumeric port with your packaged version somehow?
