Port: | py26-dateutil py26-google-apputils py26-protobuf |
Description
The recent retirement of py26-dateutil along with many other py26 subports appears to be a bit premature as there are still a few other subports remaining that depend on it, to wit:
- py26-google-apputils (dependent of py26-dateutil) (devans)
- py26-protobuf (dependent of py26-google-apputils) (blair)
py26-protobuf has no futher dependents so I'm proposing to just remove these two remaining py26 subports that are now broken rather than restoring py26-dateutil. Assigning this to blair for his approval. Any objections?

I personally would argue that we should get ride of the remaining py26 subports pretty soon.
As far as I recall, there was some timeline to phase out python 2.6 and 3.3 subports already some time back and quite a lot of the py26/py33 subports were already removed. I have removed them for the ports I maintain. So there is no complete ecosystem for Python 2.6/3.3 in Macports anymore and I doubt anyone is still installing them. It is also often necessary to drop py26 support when updating some python packages, because upstream drops support.
No objections, feel free to delete them.
