Description
Glom 1.28.5_3 will crash when adding a new record. It seems to be related to a Glibmm error.
bool Glom::Base_DB_Table_Data::record_new(bool, const Gnome::Gda::Value &): value is null for field: date_of_birth (<unknown>:2704): glibmm-ERROR **: unhandled exception (type unknown) in signal handler

Updating now to 1.28.9 which I think may have a fix. Will let you know when I commit the changes so you can retest.

Update to 1.28.9 committed in r152627. I'm able to add records without problems. Let me know if this works for you as well.

Thank you for the update. It does work for me as well. Plus it is localized.
The version 1.28.9 corrects quite a lot of bugs.
