this ticket can be closed. I'll open another ticket with the maintainer keyword and the updated tmux-devel subort as well

Superseded by #52458. In future, it's better to just attach the revised patch to the existing ticket rather than file another one.

Yep, I thought about it, but then I noticed that the maintiner keyword was missing and the last time you told me I should always use that keyword, since I am the maintainer. But unfortumnately I cannot edit or close a ticket.
Can you please give me the correct permissions to edit and close tickets that are tmux related?

I've tested the patch and it works fine.
Do not commit the change yet. I want to update the devel subport as well.
