Description
shp2pgsql-gui aborts immediately and outputs a warning message.

Have you installed the xorg-server port, or XQuartz, and have you opened the app it installed? What is the value of the DISPLAY
environment variable?

Oh, oops. That seems to point to the fact that you compiled gtk2 with X11 but have no X11 active. Try reinstall gtk2 with the +quartz option, for example.
